Hawkeye may finally be making his return! Jeremy Renner’s recent social media posts suggest that he may be taking up the bow once more on the silver screen.
For as big as the cast of Avengers: Doomsday is, there are still quite a few major exclusions. Tom Holland, Brie Larson, and even Mark Ruffalo are all among the MCU stars not yet confirmed to return. However, perhaps the biggest name on that list is Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye in almost every Avengers film.
Jeremy Renner has played coy about potentially making his return as Hawkeye, especially following reported conflict last year between him and Disney about his salary for the Hawkeye Disney Plus series. However, with the actor reposting the Avengers: Doomsday teaser on his Instagram, fans have begun to speculate that the bad blood between him and Disney was mopped up with a big wad of cash.
Is Jeremy Renner In Avengers: Doomsday?
Of course, a lot of actors, both in Avengers: Doomsday and not, have reposted the film’s first trailer. However, what has made Jeremy Renner notable is that he posted the first poster for the film. This is something that has only been done by cast members confirmed to make their return, suggesting that Hawkeye may just have a role in this film yet.
Given how closely Hawkeye is tied to some of the MCU’s biggest stars, such as Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, it certainly wouldn’t be a shock to see him return in Avengers: Doomsday. The big question is if Jeremy Renner’s beef with Marvel was able to be squashed while the project was still in production.
