‘Justice League’: Joe Manganiello Teases Deathstroke In New Instagram Post

Deathstroke Joe Manganiello Ben Affleck Batman Justice League

Justice League actor Joe Manganiello recently took to Instagram to show off his new set of Deathstroke dice.

You may not remember this, but there was a time when Joe Manganiello was set to play Deathstroke in a Ben Affleck-directed Batman movie. Affleck ultimately dropped out of the director’s chair and passed the baton to Matt Reeves. Since then, Reeves has steered The Batman into a new direction, leaving Manganiello’s future as Deathstroke uncertain.

Fans hoping for Joe Manganiello to return as Deathstroke were given hope with the reveal that a standalone film focusing on DC’s most dangerous assassin was in the works at Warner Brothers. Even though the post-credits scene of Justice League hinted that the character would help Lex Luthor assemble a team of supervillains, the news of the solo movie deflated any hope of that happening. The disappointing box office performance of Justice League allowed the studio to regroup and fix its plans for DC Films and ever since there has been no discussions on the future of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke.

Earlier this week, Joe Manganiello teased Deathstroke by uploading an Instagram post of a dice set featuring the character’s iconic mask on one side. While the actor states that he’s only adding to his dice collection, the comments section shows that fans are still hoping for some movement on the Deathstroke film.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
