‘Joker’ Art Gives Joaquin Phoenix The Iconic Purple Suit

The Joker is without a doubt the most iconic villain in comic book history. So iconic, that every time a new version of him is to be portrayed on film and/or television, fans are always curious to see what the newest actor is going to bring to the Clown Prince of Gotham. Now that Academy Award-nominee Joaquin Phoenix is taking on the mantle in a standalone film, fans are excited to see how he brings Batman’s archnemesis to life.

Recently-leaked set photos have shown Phoenix in all of his Joker glory with the makeup and costume. Despite dismay from Todd Phillips over the paparazzi leaking images and videos from the set, fans have had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to Phoenix’s look.

Obviously, the advent of new photos of the Joker will inspire some fans to tweak the design a little bit to reflect some of the most iconic imagery of the character. For example, a fan found a way to turn the Joker’s coat purple:

It is unknown whether or not Phoenix’s Joker will only don this suit as the Joker throughout the entire film. It is possible that we will see him wear the purple suit as well, but we will have to wait over a year until we get to see such magic in action.
