Supergirl star Jon Cryer is open to reprising his role as Lex Luthor in various DC shows, including Titans and Superman & Lois.
Supergirl made a risky casting decision when they brought on Jon Cryer to star as Lex Luthor. Cryer is most well-known for his comedic appearances in projects like Two and a Half Men and Pretty In Pink, which have garnered him numerous praise throughout his career. As fate would have it, Cryer absolutely killed it as the maniacal Lex Luthor, giving Arrowverse fans a different, more nuanced take on the legendary super-villain.
Last night’s episode of Supergirl saw Jon Cryer officially saying goodbye to the role of Lex Luthor, a character he’s been playing since 2018. Cryer also reprised his roles in various Arrowverse series during the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event was taking place. While he may be done with Supergirl, for now, Cryer is open to returning in other DC shows, including Titans, which he praised.
Jon Cryer told ComicBook.com that he doesn’t just see Lex Luthor appearing in Superman & Lois, but a multitude of other DC shows like Titans if the story is right.
“I had been feeling like [this would be the end], but I also want to honor this version of the character. I like the Arrowverse. I think they do a great job with it. I think Superman & Lois is fantastic. I think Doom Patrol is fantastic, and Titans is pretty great. And Stargirl, I’ve only seen one episode, but it seems like fun. I thought Black Lightning was terrific. So I want to honor Lex in the Arrowverse verse. So if they’ve got a great arc for him on Superman & Lois, or The Flash, or Titans or whatever, I’m happy to find a way to come back and be a part of that.”
Seeing as last night’s episode of Supergirl wrapped up the series, it’s possible that Lex Luthor could appear in another Arrowverse show. However, a jump to the HBO Max side of things would be interesting, and seeing the character duke it out with some of the heroes on Titans would make for intriguing television.
