Is Jonathan Majors making his return to the MCU? The actor seems to tease that something may be brewing with Kang the Conqueror in the near future.
Jonathan Majors will likely go down as one of the most controversial actors in the history of the MCU. Originally set to play the franchise’s next big bad as Kang the Conqueror, things came crumbling down back in 2023 following the actor being charged (and later found guilty of) assault and harassment of his partner.
Predictably, Marvel was quick to sever all ties with Jonathan Majors and shift their current plans for the MCU. The focus is now on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, with Kang the Conqueror all-but-forgotten as the fandom moves on from the trial. However, there are still those hoping to see Majors return to his role in the franchise.
Will Jonathan Majors Return As Kang?
The topic of Kang the Conqueror actually came up during a recent interview that Jonathan Majors had with The U.S. Sun. When asked if there was any chance that the actor could make a return to the MCU, Majors seemed to play coy about the possibility, hinting that there may still be a future for one of Marvel’s most feared villains.
“I cannot say anything about that,” Majors remarked before adding “Well, it’s a Multiverse, so there’s always that. Always a lot of opportunity for that.”
Of course, just as many actors have lied about not being in MCU, it’s always possible that Jonathan Majors is simply bluffing about plans for him to return as Kang the Conqueror. Marvel Studios does seem very happy with their current direction with Doctor Doom, and it’s hard to imagine any place for the villain outside of the Multiverse Saga.
