‘Justice League’: Ben Affleck & Co-Stars Won’t Return For Snyder Cut Reshoots

Ben Affleck and his costars will not return for reshoots for Zack Snyder’s upcoming version of Justice League for HBO Max.

Earlier this week, director Zack Snyder announced that his cut of Justice League would be coming to HBO Max. This came after nearly two and a half years of campaigning from fans to see the director’s original vision released. This version of the film, however, will still have to undergo more visual effects and editing work which will reportedly cost an additional $20M-$30M. However, one thing that this did not include were reshoots with actors like Ben Affleck and his co-stars.

Earlier today, Heroic Hollywood founder Umberto Gonzalez revealed on a podcast for The Wrap that the Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League would not include reshoots. While the director wanted to include them, it was the one area where HBO Max drew the line:

“There’s not going to be any reshoots of any kind with any actors. It’s just additional dialogue. Here’s something that hasn’t been reported yet: (Snyder) did want to shoot and he wanted to do additional photography but HBO Max said no, that’s not happening. We’ll give you money for post-production, for special effects, for scoring, and even ADR but no reshoots of any kind on this movie.”

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
