Karl Urban is officially set to make his debut as Johnny Cage in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2. A new behind-the-scenes photo gives fans their first look at the iconic character.
The decision to exclude Johnny Cage from the first Mortal Kombat movie perplexed fans across the world, with many viewing the character as the true face of the franchise. Luckily, it seems the sequel is fixing this problem, with Karl Urban playing the iconic hero of Earthrealm. A new BTS photo gives fans a sneak peek at the game-accurate costume he’ll be wearing in the film.
While certainly not the most substantial teaser, the BTS photo seems to suggest the sequel will be taking notes from Johnny Cage’s Mortal Kombat 11 iteration, complete with the iconic belt buckle paired with jeans. This should give hope to fans worried about Karl Urban’s casting as the mouthy ninja mime, as it’s clear the actor will have the look locked down!
