‘Merlin’s Katie McGrath Joins ‘Supergirl’ As Lena Luthor

A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that CW’s Supergirl was adding Lex Luthor’s little sister, Lena Luthor, to the cast as a series regular and as we have been getting several casting news on other characters, we now know who is playing Lena. TV Line broke the news that Merlin actress Katie McGrath has joined the series as Lex’s little sister. Here’s how they describe her.

“Beautiful, powerful, and enigmatic, Lena arrives in National City on the heels of brother Lex’s incarceration hoping for a fresh start. Lena has taken over as CEO of her family’s billion-dollar-tech company, Luthor Corp, which has been tarnished by Lex’s evil infamy. Her goal? To re-brand the empire as a force for good. Lena wants to be seen as her own person, separate from her brother. Kara is drawn into Lena’s sphere and must determine if she is friend or foe.”

With Lena coming to the series, as well as the fact that we will be seeing Metropolis, possibly a certain green cyborg, signs of Daily Planet, it wouldn’t be shocking if we eventually down the line in Season 2 actually see Lex in the flesh as we haven’t seen him in the DC TV Universe. McGrath’s Lena joins the recently announced Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr and Christopher Wood’s mysterious DC character. Two characters that are left to cast are Nick Farrow as well as the mysterious “The Doctor” (not to be confused with Doctor Who).

Supergirl Season 2 is set to premiere on Monday, October 10 at 8/7c on The CW.
