Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige Confirms Multiple Kang Variants Are Coming To The MCU

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that multiple Variants of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror will be showing up in future MCU projects.

Jonathan Majors first appeared in the MCU in Loki on Disney Plus, where he played He Who Remains, the founder of the Time Variance Authority. Now, with He Who Remains dead, Majors is getting ready to return as the character’s far more destructive Variant, Kang the Conqueror.

Kang will make his debut in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, but will go on to serve as the big bad for the MCU’s current Multiverse Saga.

A Council Of Kangs

Speaking after Jonathan Majors’ Kang was revealed in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige confirmed Majors would be playing more than one version of Kang going forward.

As a result of Kang’s propensity for altering timelines, including his own, the character has adopted multiple identities across multiple realities in the comics. It looks like the MCU is set to explore this aspect of his character in the Multiverse Saga, with more than one Kang Variant showing up.

Talking to ComicBook.com, Kevin Feige said of Jonathan Majors:

“It’s really impressive what Jonathan Majors is able to do, and all the different incarnations, Variants, if you will, of Kang that we will see him do. It’s really pretty cool.”

Whatever becomes of Kang when he faces off against Ant-Man and the Wasp in Quantumania, it sounds like this is a threat the heroes of the MCU just aren’t going to be able to shake. Kang will likely also appear in Loki Season 2, after being set up at the end of Season 1, and is set for a final showdown with the Avengers in 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Jonathan Majors last appeared as Kang The Conquerer in the first season of Loki. Here is the synopsis:
