Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merchandise from Hasbro and Funko, which was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, offers a first look at costumes for Ironheart and other characters.
Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams will make her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, before going on to appear in the Disney Plus series Ironheart. In the comics, Riri Williams is a teenage genius who builds her own Iron-Man-inspired high-tech suit of armor.
The newly unveiled merchandise for Wakanda Forever reveals what is presumably Ironheart’s first costume and it might not be what fans are expecting.
Riri Williams Suits Up
The Riri Williams Funko Pop figures and the box art for Hasbro’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Monopoly reveal that Riri’s suit in the film will be more of a crude exo-skeleton, rather than the sleek full suit of armor she is known for wearing in the comics.
Riri’s first Ironheart armor in the comics is bigger and bulkier than the suit she currently wears, but is still a full suit of armor. It looks like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will find Dominique Thorne’s Riri still working on her armor, leaving her with a bare-bones version in the movie.
Also included in the new look at the upcoming Marvel merchandise are images of action figures based on Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia in a new aquatic suit, as well as Namor and other Atlanteans. Check out the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merchandise below:
Fans will have to wait and see whether Riri Williams will update her Ironheart armor over the course of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, or whether her upgraded suit will debut in Ironheart on Disney Plus. In either case, it looks like Riri will be joining the Wakandans in their battle against the Atlanteans.
