Jumanji star Kevin Hart suffered spinal fractures in a car accident earlier this month.
After it was reported that Kevin Hart was involved in a car accident this past weekend and had sustained severe back injuries, a new report claims that he had three spinal fractures that were repaired in surgery. The surgery was successful but the Jumanji star will be facing plenty of physical therapy to recover from the extensive injuries.
TMZ reported that two of Kevin Hart’s fractures were in the thoracic section of the spine, and another in the lumbar. The Jumanji star is also highly medicated at the moment to deal with the “intense pain” from his injuries and subsequent surgeries. This will undoubtedly have a knock on effect to the projects in Kevin Hart’s schedule, let alone the ones in the pipeline for the Jumanji star.
Kevin Hart will soon reprise his role as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar when the third Jumanji film hits theaters this holiday season. Based on the children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, the Jumanji franchise has followed the misadventures of characters who find themselves plagued by a magical game. The 1995 film starred Robin Williams in the lead role and followed the book’s story of wild jungle animals invading the real world. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart’s Jumanji sequel updated the concept to follow a group of teens who are transported to the world of Jumanji through a video game.
Here’s the official synopsis for Kevin Hart’s Jumanji: The Next Level:
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
Directed by Jake Kasdan from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg, Jumanji: The Next Level stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Alex Wolff, with Danny Glover and Danny DeVito.
Jumanji: The Next Level will be released in theaters on December 13, 2019.
