Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to make his return to superhero films with next year’s Kraven the Hunter. According to the actor, he “didn’t give a f–k” about franchise films like Avengers: Age of Ultron before this point.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was no stranger to blockbuster flicks before Kraven the Hunter. From Kick-Ass to Avengers: Age of Ultron, he was a veritable action star! However, it seems as though the MCU’s Quicksilver never held much love for the process of franchise films, preferring to spend time with his family:
“There was ‘Kick-Ass’ and then there was ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Avengers,’ and all those things lined up for me,” Taylor-Johnson told Variety. “But I didn’t really care for them…I wanted, purely, to be with my babies. I didn’t want to be taken away from them. I battled with what that would be like. I would say I was probably not ready to be in that position anyway—it was too early. But yeah, I also slightly didn’t give a f–k.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s dislike for blockbusters was no secret even at the time. He reportedly only signed on to play Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron because Marvel’s Kevin Feige assured him he would be dead by the end of the film. Though given Taylor-Johnson seems to be more than ready to tackle Kraven the Hunter, it seems as though fans may be seeing more of him in coming years.
