Joker: Folie à Deux finally gets a new trailer! Lady Gaga has released a swathe of fresh footage from the film featuring its early reviews.
Joker: Folie à Deux hits theaters in a scant few weeks. This has left fans hungry for more of Joaquin Phoenix’s Clown Prince of crime. Luckily, Lady Gaga has come to serve. The Harley Quinn actress posted a new trailer for the film to her social media, highlighting the reviews given to the film through early screenings at film festivals.
This newest Joker: Folie à Deux trailer features Lady Gaga’s cover of the iconic song That’s Life from the first film. It also shows scenes new and old of her take on Harley Quinn interacting with Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck inside Arkham Asylum. This comes complete with new narration warning her character, currently known as Lee, to stay away from Fleck for her own good. The full video can be seen below:
The Early Reviews For ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’
This is the first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux released since the film’s early reviews began to trickle onto the net. Sadly, the reality for Joaquin Phoenix’s grand return as Arthur Fleck seems to be much more mixed than the footage leads on. The movie sits at a shockingly low score on Rotten Tomatoes, with much of the praise stemming from Lady Gaga’s performance as Harley Quinn across from Phoenix.
The film is also struggling in the war of public opinion. Given Lady Gaga’s leading role as Harley Quinn and the prominence of songs in the trailer and pre-release footage, many consider Joker: Folie à Deux a musical. However, it’s a label that director Todd Phillips has vehemently dodged during promotion of the film, leaving many to wonder what the reason was to continue Joaquin Phoenix’s story as Arthur Fleck.
