Is Garret Dillahunt playing Green Arrow in the Green Lantern series? The Lanterns star speaks out on the viral social media post teasing his role in the DC Universe.

The DC Universe fandom has been lit on fire over the past couple days. But before one gets to the Green Arrow of it all, it’s pertinent to rewind all the way back to when Garret Dillahunt was first cast in Lanterns. The Green Lantern series had cast a number of original characters already, but Dillahunt’s always stood out to fans as different, especially as he was described as a “villain” during initial reports with the same first name as the infamous Black Hand.

As such, fans have been keeping a close eye on all of Garret Dillahunt’s social media for any clue about what character he would be playing in Lanterns. Most thought they’d catch a costume slip-up or some sort of name tag that could give the game away. What nobody expected was for the actor to seemingly reveal that Green Arrow would be making his DC Universe debut in a Green Lantern series.

Is Green Arrow In The Lanterns Series?

The internet absolutely exploded following this post. Not only was this seemingly incontrovertible proof that the actor would be playing Green Arrow in Lanterns, but it stayed up for quite some time. However, after just over a day of mind-numbing refreshes and rampant speculation, Garret Dillahunt made a social media post confirming that he would, in fact, not be playing Oliver Queen in the Green Lantern series, or any other DC Universe project.

While it’s a shame (or perhaps, a relief to some) that Garret Dillahunt won’t be playing Green Arrow in the series, there was some interesting information to come out of his deconfirmation post. Namely, that his character would be an amputee. And while there isn’t a major Green Lantern villain with only one leg, the Black Hand is missing his hand. Is it possible that all of this was a soft confirmation that he would be playing the iconic villain in Lanterns?
