Madame Web is set to hit theaters in just a few weeks. A new featurette from the Spider-Man spin-off reveals the motivation of the film’s villain: Ezekiel Sims.
Details about Ezekiel Sims’ role in Madame Web have been kept close to the chest, with most of the discussion around his character in the spin-off making fun of his Ali Baba brand Spider-Man suit. However, a new featurette reveals the villains motivation lies in saving his own life from the three Spider-Women who kill him in the future.
Given the actor’s tease of Ezekiel Sims’ clairvoyance not saving him from his untimely death, it’s likely Madame Web will be a story about the villain causing his own demise. While not the most original motivation, it’s certainly Sony’s best foot forward yet at putting a villain in one of their Spider-Man spin-off movies. At the very least it’s not as bad as Milo in Morbius!
Who else is attached to the Madame Web movie?
Madame Web is an upcoming superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, who made her first appearance in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #210. The movie is being directed by S.J. Clarkson, a British television director who has previously worked on episodes of Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Marvel’s Defenders.
The Madame Web movie is expected to explore the origin story of the titular character and her first journey in the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters. Its cast also includes Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Adam Scott and Zosia Mamet.
Madame Web is currently slated to hit theaters on February 16, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
