Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali has signed on to play Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced on Saturday.

Towards the end of his year’s Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed that Green Book and Moonlight star Mahershala Ali is joining the MCU as Blade the Vampire Hunter. Shortly after the announcement, Mahershala Ali took the stage wearing a Blade baseball cap.

During the panel, Marvel Studios also revealed the official logo for Mahershala Ali’s Blade reboot. You can check it out below.

In Marvel Comics, Blade is also known as Eric Brooks, the half-human and half-vampire master martial artist whose mother was killed by a vampire during his birth. Since then, Blade has mastered his own fighting style to take on various types of monsters and rid the world of vampires.

Wesley Snipes first portrayed the eponymous hero in 1998’s Blade and returned for the sequel directed by Guillermo del Toro. Blade Trinity marked his final appearance as the character.
