Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is setting the internet on fire. The upcoming Captain America and Black Panther crossover looks almost as real as the films.
Fans have been cautiously optimistic about Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. The prospect of a Captain America game taking place in World War 2 was interesting enough, and Black Panther was only a cherry on the cake. However, in a world full of games like Marvel’s Avengers and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, it’s understandable that gamers would be wary.
However, all those fears have now been tossed out of the window. The first trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has blown expectations out of the water. While no gameplay was actually shown, the cutscenes exhibited tease a truly epic story clashing two of Marvel’s most iconic heroes — Captain America and Black Panther — with graphics better than almost anything else on the market.
Marvel’s Foray Into The World Of Gaming
Marvel 1943: Rise Of Hydra is a refreshing break from a long line of gaming flops from Marvel. Marvel’s Avengers was one of the most disappointing live service games ever released, coming to an end long before what was planned. While Marvel’s Midnight Suns was received better by fans, the game flopped critically due to its controversial gameplay.
Yet, Marvel has plenty of games with promise coming up the pipeline. Blade, Iron Man, and Black Panther are all set to get their own AAA titles following the release of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. While not developed by the same teams, it’s likely Marvel is keeping a close eye on their quality.
This isn’t even to mention Insomniac’s efforts. The studio has three successful Spider-Man games under its belt, with a fourth certainly on the way. The studio is also developing a Wolverine video game. And, if leaks are to be believed, they have a few more surprising Marvel games coming down the pipeline as well.
