Marvel Studios has released a new series called MPower in honor of International Women’s Day. The documentary series focuses on the impact of female characters in Marvel Comics and the MCU on fans around the world.

MPower is a four-part documentary series on Disney Plus. Each episode focuses on a different corner of the Marvel universe and features interviews from the actresses who brought these characters to life, including Elizabeth Olsen, Danai Gurira, Brie Larson, and Zoe Saldana.

Saldana, who plays Gamora in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, is also an executive producter for MPower who hopes the series can “drive real change”:

MPower is a tribute to women’s representation and empowerment” Saldana said “We’re enthused to have the involvement of a diverse group of women whose voices and stories will serve as a source of inspiration. Our hope is that this series will ignite meaningful conversations and drive real change towards a more equal and inclusive world.”

What to expect from the third Guadians movie

One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
