Is Taylor Swift actually joining the MCU? The newest rumor off the mill says the popstar is interested in playing a superhero in the ever-growing Marvel Universe.
The most dedicated Marvel fans may be feeling some deja vu from that headline. This is far from the first time a rumor has sprouted up about Taylor Swift joining the MCU. In fact, last years fans were absolutely deluged with scoops and reports suggesting that the popstar would be appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine, or had otherwise met with Marvel Studios about an undisclosed role.
Yet now it seems as though we’re getting Taylor’s Version of the well-worn Marvel rumor. According to inside DanielRPK, Taylor Swift has been in discussion to play a number of high profile roles following her highly successful Eras Tour. Among these roles is apparently a superhero, with scooper MyTimeToShineHello corroborating that the popstar has met with the studio to join the MCU in an undisclosed role.
Who Could Taylor Swift Play In The MCU?
The most common character brought up in any discussion of Taylor Swift joining the MCU is Dazzler. While the mutant has never been explicitly stated to be tied to Swift in a rumor, the fact that they’re both blonde popstars is enough for many fans to make the connection. And with Marvel Studios leaning heavily into the X-Men with their upcoming Mutant Saga, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to have one of the biggest stars on Earth shine light on a fan-favorite character.
However, as with any casting rumor, some fans have gone hog wild. Lady Deadpool is a popular pick for Taylor Swift, especially after many thought she’d make her MCU debut in Deadpool and Wolverine. It’s also possible Marvel Studios ties her to one of their rising stars like Gwenpool or The Blonde Phantom, the latter of which is reportedly attached to Scarlett Johansson’s mystery Disney Plus series.
