Marvel Rumored To Be Working On Multiple X-Men Projects, But What About The Avengers?

Are the Avengers out?

The time for Avengers is seemingly coming to an end. A new rumor suggests Marvel is shelving the team in the next phase of the MCU to focus on mutants and the X-Men.

With Marvel finally regaining the rights to the X-Men following their purchase of 20th Century Fox, the mutants are finally coming to the MCU. However, it seems they’ll be coming in a bigger way than many may have expected, with a new rumor suggesting that the team will take centerstage in the next saga and push The Avengers to the sidelines:

“Several Mutant-themed projects are currently in the works, with the narrative centering around the mutants,” Insider Cryptic4KQual wrote on Twitter/X. “The Avengers will have minimal presence and will not be the primary focus of the saga.”

It certainly makes sense for Marvel to go all in on mutants. While The Avengers weren’t an unknown quantity before the MCU, they were far from Marvel’s biggest draw. The X-Men have always contended with Hulk and Spider-Man as the company’s most popular characters. Here’s to hoping this swing at a cinematic universe can finally do Darwin justice!
