For whatever reason, Marvel Studios decided to skip San Diego Comic-Con last year, but it doesn’t sound like that’s going to be the case this year. The reveal was made by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, who tweeted out a picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character on a Comic-Con banner we saw earlier today.

Shortly after, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 writer and director James Gunn responded to his tweet with the following, which suggests that he will also be there along with the cast of the highly anticipated follow-up.
Really? You’ll be so close. I might have to come see you. https://t.co/LbqvjJ46Vg

It’s safe to say that we’re probably going to see the second Doctor Strange trailer during their Hall H presentation this July. Fans attending the event will also likely get a first look at some footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which will wrap filming within the next two weeks. However, don’t expect to see anything from Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming as the two movies will both begin production soon.
As for other announcements, I wouldn’t be surprised if we finally get confirmation on who will be playing Captain Marvel in her standalone movie and Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2. As of right now, the only frontrunner that we know of for the role is Academy Award winner Brie Larson, who also has the support of Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
