Marvel Studios’ ‘The Eternals’ Production Start Date Reportedly Revealed

Marvel The EternalsThat Hashtag Show reports production on Marvel Studios’ The Eternals could be getting underway as early as next year.

According to the site, principal photography on the project tentatively scheduled to begin in September of 2019. Plot details remain under wraps, however, the story reportedly features a love story between Ikaris and Sersi. Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a fictional evolutionary offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials over a million years ago. The beings who possess superpowers and longer lifespans were the result of genetic experiments that led to the creation of two divergent races: The Eternals and The Deviants.

Marvel Studios has tapped Chloe Zhao is to direct the project from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The duo is best known for their spec script Ruin which managed to reach the top of the 2017 Black List.

Production on all of Marvel’s 2019 films including Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spider-Man: Far From Home has been completed. Other known future projects from the studio include the Black Widow standalone film starring Scarlet Johannson, which has been written by Jac Schaeffer, and the Black Panther sequel that Ryan Coogler is returning to direct as well as write. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally set to begin production in early 2019 but was put on hold after James Gunn was removed from the franchise.
