Is Loki coming back to the Marvel Universe? One of the producers for the MCU gives his thoughts on the Disney Plus series landing a season 3.
While many have critiques about how Marvel has handled their recent phase of the MCU, almost everyone can agree that Loki is the one exception. The first season was a solid package with a few rocky moments, but season 2 turned the Disney Plus series from a good show to one of the best in the genre. This left fans wondering if there was any chance for it to return for a season 3.
This idea was broached with Marvel Television producer Brad Winderbaum during a talk with CinePOP at this year’s D23. When asked about the possibility of Loki landing a season 3 on Disney Plus, Widnerbaum simply stated that “There’s always a chance,” continuing the tradition of MCU stakeholders giving cryptic answers to burning questions.
What Would The Story Be For Loki Season 3?
To many, it doesn’t seem like Loki has much runway for a season 3. The God of Mischief has taken his throne as the keeper of timelines. While there could be an interesting experimental show made taking place entirely in a chair, it likely wouldn’t be to the taste of Marvel fans on Disney Plus.
However, it’s possible Loki could have a season 3 without Tom Hiddleston ever appearing. The conceit of the Disney Plus series revolves around variants, specifically that of Sophia Di Martino’s Syvlie. So long as Marvel could get the TVA’s supporting cast back on board with the MCU, a season 3 that continues the story of Loki without Marvel’s main Loki could be in the cards.
