Marvel is looking to introduce an evil Superman-type character in its Thunderbolts movie.
According to Daniel Richtman, Marvel is currently casting the antagonist of Thunderbolts, who is described as “a conflicted and powerful villain” akin to an “evil Superman.” The character is said to be The Sentry, with the insider adding that the studio wants an actor between the ages of 30 and 50 and is interested in Ryan Gosling and Alexander Skarsgård for the role.
Created by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee, The Sentry’s comic book history dates back to 2000, with the character making his first appearance during a Marvel Knights miniseries. He is often compared to Superman due to their similar powerset.
