The sun is set to shine again on the Odinson brothers. A Marvel Studios producer recently confirmed plans to reunite Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in the MCU as Thor and Loki.
Fans have been calling for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor to reconnect with Tom Hiddleston ever since Loki was announced. While Hemsworth has yet to appear in the Disney Plus series, not counting a recently released deleted scene, a Marvel Studios producer has revealed their reunion is in the works:
“I don’t want to — yeah. I think the the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we’re telling,” Loki producer Kevin Wright told Variety. “But for that meeting to really be fulfilling, we have to get Loki to a certain place emotionally. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.”
It’s unclear exactly when Marvel Studios plans to reunite Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. However, given Loki sets up the God of Mischief as a key member of the TVA and Thor will almost certainly return in Avengers: Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars, it’s likely the two will reunite at the very end of the Multiverse Saga.
Who else is attached to Loki season two?
Tom Hiddleston is spearheading the cast of Loki season two as the titular God of Mischief. The cast also includes Owen Wilson, Jonathan Majors, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Ke Huy Quan and Neil Ellice.
Eric Martin replaced Michael Waldron as the head writer of Loki for its second season. Martin and Waldron also serve as executive producers on the series alongside Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Benson and Moorhead directed the majority of the episodes for the upcoming season.
