Matt Reeves reacted to the passing of The Batman‘s dialect coach Andrew Jack who died from the coronavirus at the age of 76.

Production on Matt Reeves’ The Batman started principal photography in the United Kingdom earlier this year, but has now been put on hold like many others due to the coronavirus outbreak. There’s no word on when The Batman will resume filming, but on Tuesday, it was reported that dialect coach Andrew Jack had passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with the pandemic.

In addition to serving as the dialect coach on The Batman, Andrew Jack also appeared as General Ematt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Andrew Jack also voiced Moloch in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The Batman director Matt Reeves reacted to Andrew Jack’s death with a touching tweet that you can read below.

Full plot details on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the film will revolve around a younger version of Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow the Dark Knight during his early years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy with Robert Pattinson.
