She-Hulk: Attorney at Law featured a hilarious and totally unexpected post-credits scene in its third episode, in which Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk starts twerking with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Episode 3 of She-Hulk included a sub-plot in which Jen Walters’ former colleague Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) believed he was dating Megan Thee Stallion, only to discover he was being conned by an Asgardian shapeshifter. When he takes the shapeshifter to court, the real Megan Thee Stallion is briefly seen attending the trial.
In a post-credits scene, She-Hulk takes on Megan Thee Stallion as a new client before the two begin dancing and twerking together. Director Kat Coiro has now revealed how that scene came to be.
She-Hulk’s Got Moves
Talking about the twerking scene in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, director Kat Coiro revealed the moment came about on the day of filming to give Tatiana Maslany the chance to dance with Megan Thee Stallion.
In an interview with The Direct, Coiro said the episode was originally written to feature “a celebrity who nobody in their right mind would believe would date Dennis Bukowski.” Titania actress Jameela Jamil suggested Megan Thee Stallion, with whom she had previously worked on Legendary.
“And when we told Tatiana [Maslany] that she was going to do it, Tatiana was so excited because she’s a true Megan fan,” the She-Hulk director said. Coiro went on to explain how the post-credits twerking moment was brought about:
“And so, that’s another example of a scene that was written kind of on the day of them dancing and it was really to give Tatiana a chance to dance with Megan. And we were all surprised at how she could twerk with the rest of them…
“It was definitely in the moment where we were filming that, and looking at each other, and saying, ’Either this is going to be the most amazing thing ever, or we’re gonna break the MCU’ (laughs).”
The She-Hulk scene has predictably divided Marvel fans, but it is a fun moment that feels right at home in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law‘s comedic take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
