Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is once again addressing rumors he’s replacing Henry Cavill as Superman for DC Films.

Last month, Variety shared an article regarding the current slate of DC Films, revealing that Warner Bros. has met with J.J. Abrams and Michael B. Jordan to figure out what to do with Superman. However, the report also mentioned that Michael B. Jordan is unlikely to commit to the role of Superman due to his busy schedule and the fact that the character won’t get another movie anytime soon.

While doing the press rounds for Just Mercy, Michael B. Jordan sat down with MTV News to talk about his new movie and other upcoming projects. When the subject of Superman came up, Michael B. Jordan had the following to say:

“I’ve been rumored to play Morpheus to Superman to Power Rangers and everything in between, so it’s like, I’m kinda used to the rumors I’m playing something. But, anything that I do dive into has to be done the right way. It has to be full of authenticity. I’m a fan of comic books, you know? I understand, you know, the fans being upset at, ‘Oh no, why are they doing this and why are they changing that?’ I would feel the same way about certain things. So just know, if I ever were to dabble in anything, it would be authentic and something that I feel like people would really support.”

Recently, Henry Cavill stated that he has not given up on the role of Superman, but his future as the Last Son of Krypton is currently in question following reports of contentious contract negotiations. For now, Warner Bros. and DC are said to be focusing on introducing Supergirl to the DC Extended Universe.

Henry Cavill’s Superman was last seen in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Michael B. Jordan and Henry Cavill’s Superman.
