The latest Batgirl set photos reveal a mural of Michael Keaton’s Batman in this new version of Gotham City.
Last week, we finally got our first look at Leslie Grace as Batgirl, with the film shooting scenes in Glasglow. Set photos also revealed a few Easter eggs scattered across Gotham City, such as a mural of Batman and Robin. With Michael Keaton returning as his Batman in the HBO Max film, many speculated it was our first look at his Robin.
Another mural was recently spotted on the Batgirl set, which features art of Michael Keaton’s Caped Crusader that is much clearer since it’s a still from Batman Returns. Rumors indicate that Keaton will be the main Batman of the DCEU moving forward; however, JK Simmons will return as his Commissioner Gordon from Justice League. This raises the question of whether Batgirl takes place in the Gotham City from the Tim Burton films or the DCEU. As we await more answers, you can check out the Batman mural below.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script.
DC’s Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. Barbara was last seen in a live-action feature film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, with Alicia Silverstone playing the iconic DC Comics character. J.K. Simmons also stars as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser appearing as the villain Firefly, and Michael Keaton as Batman.
Batgirl will hit HBO Max this year. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the future of Leslie Grace’s Batgirl, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
