Michael Keaton will wear Batman’s suit for his return to the iconic superhero role in the upcoming Ezra Miller film, The Flash.

Earlier this week the movie world was rocked by the news that Michael Keaton was in talks to return the role of Batman for the Flash film starring Ezra Miller. The upcoming film is said to be based on the 2011 Geoff Johns comic, Flashpoint comic, that saw Barry Allen travel back through time to save his mother from her murder, inadvertently creating a horrific timeline that saw the Atlantians and the Amazonians battle one another in an extremely destructive war. In the comic, it is Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne who is this world’s Batman. The upcoming Ezra Miller film, however, will replace the Thomas Wayne role with Michael Keaton’s version of Batman.

Michael Keaton, of course, portrayed the character in the 1989 Tim Burton film, Batman, and would reprise the role for its sequel, Batman Returns. Both Tim Burton and Michael Keaton left the franchise following the second film but Keaton none the less left a lasting impression on moviegoers and is considered to be the best live-action Batman by many. Now we know that Michael Keaton will wear Batman’s iconic suit in the upcoming film. Whether or not it will be the same suit from the 1989 film or if it will be some modern take on the outfit is currently unknown.

What do you all make of this news? Would you like to see Michael Keaton wear a new Batman suit or the classic one for Ezra Miller’s The Flash? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and Michael Keaton’s role in it and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
