Catwoman actress Zoe Kravitz has opened up about her role in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and working with director Matt Reeves on the upcoming Warner Bros. film.

Speaking on a new episode of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s podcast, The HFPA in Conversation, Kravitz — the silver screen’s next Selina Kyle — praised the new Batman actor, going as far as to say Pattinson was born to play the iconic DC superhero.

“Rob’s great, he’s wonderful in this role,” Kravitz said. “I truly think that this was something he was born to do and he’s a great guy so it’s a joy to be around him. And when you’re working with people who you respect it makes everything better and easier.”

Kravitz went on to express her admiration for Reeves, sharing how great she thinks the script is, which made the challenge of going on hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic that much harder.

“Matt [Reeves] our director is also just…he’s really smart and I think his intentions are in a really wonderful place with the story,” the actress added. “The script is really, really strong. So it’s been really sad having to come to this halt because I really think that we were finding a really interesting space with the world and it will continue. But just being on set every day was a real joy.”

Production on The Batman was suspended in March amid the global outbreak after just a month of filming in the United Kingdom. Principal photography is expected to resume soon under new safety rules and guidelines put in place by the government.

Plot details for The Batman are under wraps but the project will be centered on Pattinson as a younger Caped Crusader, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. The film is also expected to be the first installment to a new trilogy with Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding Zoe Kravitz, and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman as we learn it. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content in the future!
