Vulture gets an upgrade!

Michael Keaton’s Vulture could have looked very different! New concept art for Spider-Man: Homecoming reveals a scrapped design for his suit.

The Vulture was a surprising treat in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Michael Keaton brought a truly threatening aura to the villain that wasn’t seen much in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at that point. His design was one of the best in the series as well, still standing up there in the Hall of Fame when it comes to supervillain costumes.

New concept art for Spider-Man: No Way Home reveals a scrapped design of the Vulture that focused much more on scavenging junk for his suit. As fans know, Vulture was almost in No Way Home but was cut from the film’s supervillain lineup. It also shows off Michael Keaton’s face, as this design doesn’t feature a mask. The full design by Josh Nizzi on Instagram can be seen below.

The Uncertain Future Of The Vulture

When Spider-Man: Homecoming first came out, Marvel fans assumed that Michael Keaton was on the fast track to lead the MCU’s Sinister Six as Vulture. Yet nearly a decade out from the project, it’s clear Sony had no idea what direction to take the character. Even Keaton himself had no idea what was going on with his Morbius cameo!

It’s still possible that Michael Keaton returns as the Vulture, of course. Even though he doesn’t know Peter Parker’s secret identity, he can still appear as a villain in a future MCU Spider-Man movie. He may even join the Sinister Six, with rumors suggesting Marvel is considering bringing back Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan from the Homecoming post-credits scene.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
