Man of Steel actor Michael Shannon has revealed his thoughts on Zack Snyder getting the opportunity to finish his cut of Justice League for HBO Max.

It has been a long time coming but Zack Snyder has finally received the green light to complete work on his vision of Justice League. The director has had supporters from all over the industry, including those who have starred in his DC Extended Universe projects. Back in April, Michael Shannon discussed how he was disappointed that Zack Snyder never got to see his vision come into fruition within Warner Bros. and DC. Shannon’s always been a champion of Zack Snyder and it’s no surprise that he’s quite excited to see his friend finally get the opportunity that he’s been vying for.

Speaking on the Car Con Carne Podcast, Michael Shannon was asked his thoughts on HBO Max’s decision to stream the much-talked about cut of Justice League.

“I feel for my friend Zack Snyder, he had a rough time of it. Between the struggles with his family and what he went through with Warner Bros., Zack is a sweet, kind, gentle, hard-working, super conscientious human being and I hope that this release gives him some sense of satisfaction or vindication or whatever because he’s such a good person.”

Michael Shannon’s comments are pretty similar to the ones he said back in April expect, this time, you can tell he’s pleased with the outcome. While the General Zod actor has tons of positive things to say about Zack Snyder, he did have some choice words to say to Warner Bros.

“[He] deserves better than he’s been dealing with.”

Ever since Justice League hit cinemas in 2017, Warner Bros. has been maligned by numerous facets of the internet for handing the team-up project to Joss Whedon. Lucky for them, the past is in the past, and the studio seems adamant in rectifying their mistake by finally allowing Snyder the once in a lifetime proposition.
