HBO Max’s The Penguin has added Michael Zegen, James Madio and Scott Cohen to its cast in recurring roles. While HBO Max has yet to release any details about the characters these actors will be portraying, Variety reports that Zegen has been cast as the key Batman villain Alberto Falcone.

Alberto Falcone is a fictional character in the Batman universe, first introduced in the DC Comics series Batman: The Long Halloween. Created by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Alberto is the son of notorious Gotham City mob boss Carmine Falcone. While his father is a feared and respected figure in the criminal underworld, Alberto is depicted as a troubled and conflicted character who struggles to live up to his family’s expectations.

Throughout The Long Halloween, Alberto is shown grappling with his own desires and fears, ultimately leading to a tragic and unexpected conclusion. His father made an appearance in The Batman, with John Tortutto bringing the character to life, adding another layer of complexity ahead of his appearance in The Penguin.

Also known as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot, The Penguin is one of Batman’s most notorious foes. He’s a master criminal with a distinctive look, thanks to his rotund physique, top hat, monocle and long nose. He’s been portrayed on-screen before by actors like Burgess Meredith, Danny DeVito and Robin Lord Taylor, but Colin Farrell is the latest star to bring him to life.
