During Paramount’s panel at CinemaCon, the company revealed the official titles for the next Mission: Impossible and A Quiet Place films.
Paramount confirmed the third A Quiet Place film will be a prequel, titled A Quiet Place: Day One, while the title of the next entry in the Mission: Impossible series came with a twist – Mission: Impossible 7 will officially be titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, with the eighth film in the franchise presumably continuing the story. The panel also included a first look at footage from Dead Reckoning Part One.
The titles for both films were confirmed on Twitter by @TheInSneider, while Variety have confirmed that Mission: Impossible 7 will bear the Part One tag.
Details remain scarce for A Quiet Place: Day One, but the trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was shown during Paramount’s panel. While Tom Cruise was not in attendance this year, the Mission: Impossible star introduced the trailer via a pre-recorded video, in which he was standing atop a plane in flight.
The Mission: Impossible trailer reportedly included the lines: “This is our chance to control the truth, the concepts of right and wrong for centuries to come,” and “You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist and never did. You need to pick a side.”
It’s not yet clear when general audiences can expect to see trailers or get more details on the upcoming Paramount films, but with the titles officially announced, it should only be a matter of time before more information emerges. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is scheduled for release on July 14th, 2023, with Mission: Impossible 8 (presumably Dead Reckoning Part Two, but no title has been confirmed as of yet) set to release less than a year later on June 28th, 2024. A Quiet Place: Day One is yet to receive a release date.
