Natasha Liu Bordizzo is set to play Sabine Wren in the upcoming Star Wars series led by Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano.
The Star Wars series following the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano is finally gearing up for production after the announcement of The Mandalorian spin-off a year ago. So far we know the cast will include Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen, and there were reports that Lucasfilm was also looking to cast a new actress as Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels.
According to Deadline, Natasha Liu Bordizzo will be the one to play Sabine Wren in Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka series. Bordizzo is best known for her work on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, The Society, and Crazy About You. In Star Wars Rebels, Sabine was originally voiced by Tiya Sircar.
Rosario Dawson made her debut as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian, here is the show’s premise:
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travels of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic….”
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, Temuera Morrison, Katee Sackhoff, Ming-Na Wen, Bill Burr, Timothy Olyphant, and Carl Weathers, with Rosario Dawson joining the series as Ahsoka Tano ahead of her spin-off series. The series was created by Jon Favreau and executive produced by Dave Filoni, with season two episodes also directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Peyton Reed, Carl Weathers, and Robert Rodriguez.
