New images have revealed new looks at Tom Sturridge as Dream and Gwendoline Christine as Lucifer in Netflix’s upcoming series The Sandman.
Way back in the summer of 2019, Netflix officially picked up Neil Gaiman’s and David Goyer’s series, The Sandman. This preceded literal decades of attempts at getting an adaptation of Gaiman’s off the ground. Like many projects, however, it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Production for Netflix’s The Sandman officially wrapped back in August of 2021. The first look at the show was revealed the next month giving us an idea as to what to expect. Now Netflix has given us a new look at Tom Sturridge as Dream and Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer. You can see the full images below:
Here is the synopsis for Netflix’s The Sandman:
A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.
The series stars Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Jenna Coleman, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, and Patton Oswalt.
Wonder Woman co-writer Allan Heinberg serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on Sandman. In addition to their duties as writers, Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer are also on board as executive producers.
