Kevin Smith revealed Warner Bros. was looking to cast Nicolas Cage as Bizarro in his Strange Adventures episode.

Strange Adventures was a project that was announced all the way back in 2019 ahead of the launch of HBO Max. There hasn’t been any news reported about the anthology series in years, but Kevin Smith revealed on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast that he was involved with one episode that he co-wrote with Eric Carrasco.

Nicolas Cage as Bizarro?

Kevin Smith went on to detail his Strange Adventures episode, which would’ve included Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Bizarro. Smith also revealed the DC series was going to have a significant budget and that Warner Bros. was considering Nicolas Cage to play Bizarro.

In the ’90s, Kevin Smith notably took a pass at Tim Burton’s Superman Lives, which would’ve starred Cage as the Man of Steel. Unfortuntaely, like Superman Lives, Strange Adventures won’t see the light of day, according to Smith. On that day in 2019, HBO Max also announced a Green Lantern series, but Smith shared that things aren’t looking good for that project either. You can listen to Smith share the story of his lost Strange Adventures episode below.

Bizarro recently appeared in the latest season of The CW’s Superman & Lois; here is the show’s synopsis:

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch star as Superman & Lois, the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist, as they return to Smallville to face their greatest challenge ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

In addition to Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, the series stars Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin as the sons of the titular characters, Dylan Walsh as General Sam Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, and Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing. Written by The Flash‘s Todd Helbing, the series will be executive produced by Helbing, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.
