‘Spider-Verse 2’: New Images Tease Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099

Oscar Isaac Spider-Man 2099 Spider-Verse 2

Oscar Isaac’s role as Spider-Man 2099 for Into the Spider-Verse 2 was recently teased by the Twitter account for the film.

Following the post-credits scene of the first Into the Spider-Verse film, many fans were excited to see (or hear) Oscar Isaac play Miguel O’Hara A.K.A. Spider-Man 2099 in a sequel. In the comics, O’Hara is a geneticist living in Nueva York, 2099, who tries to rewrite his own genetic code after being tricked into taking an illegal drug. After one of his colleagues sabotages the machine, Miguel winds up with spider DNA making up 50% of his genetic code. That’ll be an interesting montage in the Spider-Verse style.

The Twitter account for Spider-Verse 2 teased Oscar Isaac’s involvement with the sequel, while also staying relevant to the arrival of the new year. The tweet uses two pictures of Miguel suited up in his striking blue and red futuristic suit, with a caption noting that the 2022 release of the sequel is at least a little closer. It’s not clear how big Isaac’s role will be in the sequel since there will be plenty of other Spider-heroes also included in the story. But it would seem like a missed opportunity if he didn’t have a significant presence in the film. Take a look at the Spider-Man 2099 tease below.

What do you want to see from Miguel O’Hara in the Spider-Verse sequel? Are you glad that Oscar Isaac is playing the futuristic hero? Sound-off in the comments below!
