HBO Max Debuts Brand New ‘Peacemaker’ Character Posters

The team gets some new one-sheets!

Peacemaker HBO Max Aquaman John Cena

Various HBO and HBO Max-related accounts have debuted sleek new character posters from Peacemaker.

After stunning fans in The Suicide Squad, John Cena’s Peacemaker is set to return in his own solo adventure this January. The fan-favorite patriotic and maniacal vigilante will spearhead his own team as he fights for justice and what he believes is the American way. The last time we saw Peacemaker, he had his butt handed to him by Bloodsport, so we’re hoping the hero has humbled up a bit, but who are we kidding? He’s probably just as insane as he was with Task Force X. Set to debut on HBO Max throughout the world, the series will be the first live-action serialized project from the DC Extended Universe.

With the series set to debut in a matter of weeks, HBO Max and various HBO-related Twitter accounts from around the world have started to share character posters from the James Gunn series. The posters also come with some insightful commentary from the ever-hilarious @DCpeacemaker Twitter account.

It looks like Peacemaker might not be only The Suicide Squad-related spin-off in the works at HBO Max. Showrunner James Gunn recently playfully teased that more projects might be in the works, though it’s unclear what they would entail and how far along they are in the development process.

Peacemaker was created by James Gunn, who wrote all the episodes and directed five of them. The first season will consist of eight episodes, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing episodes. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner will compose the score.

Peacemaker stars John Cena, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max on January 13, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming John Cena series, the future of Aquaman in the DCEU and more, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content!
