Is Peacemaker entering a multiverse of madness? Set photos suggest John Cena may be hopping dimensions over the course of season 2!
The first set of photos from the production of Peacemaker season 2 has shown John Cena taking a relaxing break in Dallas, only to be interrupted by carnage and chaos! However, this newest batch of images suggest the hero may be traveling through the multiverse, complete with a new incarnation of his villainous father.
A few details confirm that Peacemaker season 2 may be taking place in a different universe than the first season. John Cena’s logo is flipped on the grafitti, White Dragon is now blue instead of red, and they’re flanked by a third unfamiliar hero. It seems James Gunn will be using the multiverse to explain how the series hops into the DC Studios continuity, with some radical changes coming along with it.
The Changes Coming To Peacemaker Season 2
The biggest change that could be gleaned from these set photos is that Peacemaker is on good terms with his father in this new universe, which certainly could not be said prior to the multiverse hop. They’ll also be joined by a third character in season 2, which some speculate to be Christopher Smith’s deceased brother Kevin Smith.
In the first season of Peacemaker, John Cena’s hero accidentally killed his brother during a fight orchestrated by their father as a kid. This tore a massive rift in the family that was never mended. However, if Kevin Smith did survive into season 2 in this universe, it’s likely the family worked as a clan of villains (or heroes) well into adulthood.
