First Look At ‘Doctor Who’ Star Peter Capaldi On Set Of James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

A new behind-the-scenes photo from James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad gives fans a look at Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi on set.

James Gunn still hasn’t revealed the roles of most of his The Suicide Squad cast members, but fans finally have their first look at Peter Capaldi on set of the DC Comics film. Peter Capaldi last talked about his role in The Suicide Squad at the Fan Expo in Toronto, revealing that he has to shave his head for the prosthetics required to bring his character to life. Fans suggested Peter Capaldi could be playing villains like Mr. Freeze, Psimon or Brainiac.

The first look came from an Instagram post by Mayling Ng, Peter Capaldi’s co-star on the James Gunn film. Neither Peter Capaldi or Mayling Ng are wearing their costumes for The Suicide Squad, but Peter Capaldi is still shaving his head for the role. Mayling Ng’s workout gear might imply that her character’s involved in plenty of stunts, but that’s pure speculation at this point. Here’s the first look at Peter Capaldi on set of The Suicide Squad.

The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker. James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the supervillain team.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.
