Marvel Casts Rashid Olayiwola In ‘Ironheart’ Series

The series will begin streaming late next year.

Rashida Olayiwola has been cast in the upcoming Ironheart series from Marvel Studios.

The first footage from Ironheart debuted in front of those who attended Marvel Studios’ presentation at the D23 Expo last Saturday. The footage shown to attendees featured Dominique Thorne’s Riri Willaims building her own armor, which we’ve seen in set photos.

Anthony Ramos was also confirmed as The Hood in the series, and a battle between technology and magic was teased at the convention. Filming on Ironheart is still ongoing, but cast members are still being revealed, and per Deadline, the series has added Southside star Rashida Olayiwola.

Who Else Is In Ironheart?

The reported Ironheart cast also includes Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, and Jim Rash. The six-episode Disney Plus series is scheduled to hit the streaming service late next year.

Ironheart will first appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Here is the synopsis:

“In Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.”

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett.
