A brand new photo gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at The Batman star Robert Pattinson’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for the movie.

The Batman is ramping up its pre-production with its star Robert Pattinson finally getting some action training done. In the upcoming movie, Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be using the traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu combat style to take down his enemies. Notably a very lethal and disciplined fighting style, Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be quick, cruel, but also meditative while stepping toe-to-toe with villains like Catwoman and The Riddler.

An 8th degree red and black belt, Robert Pattinson’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trainer Rigan Machado is a legend in the field, having trained other famous actors like Ashton Kutcher, Vin Diesel and Charlie Hunnam. This past weekend, Machado took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of Robert Pattinson training for his role in The Batman.

You can check out the photo of Rigan Machado prepping Robert Pattinson for The Batman below.

In the photo, Rigan Machado is most likely going over some very basic training exercises. Robert Pattinso only just recently begun training for The Batman so we can expect to see more footage of him prepping before the movie begins production early next year.

The Matt Reeves project will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon.
