The Batman is up for three Oscars at the 95th Academy Awards.

This morning, Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams revealed the full list of nominees for the 95th Academy Awards. The Batman has been recognized in three categories, as the movie has been nominated for Best Sound, Best Visual Effects and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Fans of The Batman have taken to social media to express their frustration over the fact that cinematographer Greg Freiser was snubbed for his work on the movie. Last year, Freiser won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography for Dune.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has scheduled the 95th Academy Awards for March 13, 2023, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the ceremony for the third time. The event is being held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The future of the Batman series

The Batman opened in theaters in March 2022, introducing audiences to a new take on the titular DC Comics hero played by Robert Pattinson. It earned $770.8 million at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2022.

Robert Pattinson’s Batman has yet yet to meet other DC Comics heroes and is expected to remain a standalone franchise. James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently working on creating an interconnected DC Universe consisting of film, television, animation and video game projects.

The Batman also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin and Barry Keoghan as The Joker. The movie is streaming exclusively on HBO Max and is available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.
