The Guardians of the Galaxy are ready for one last ride when Vol. 3 drops this May. To celebrate tickets finally going on sale, Marvel has released seven new posters, showing off every way fans can watch the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be available in various formats like IMAX, ScreenX, RealD 3D, 4DX and Dolby. The seventh poster is meant to promote Fandago, which is a site where fans can purchase tickets to their favorite films. Each of these formats has a corresponding poster to match, with each poster having its own aesthetic. The connecting thread through all these posters, as one may notice, is the prominence of Rocket Raccoon.
It’s been no secret that director James Gunn views Rocket as the secret protagonist of the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Gunn has said one of the main reasons that he returned to finish this trilogy after his falling out with Disney was because he wanted to see Rocket’s story finished. It seems as though Gunn is set to deliver on this promise, with the posters highlighting Rocket’s breaking away from the team and his reluctant past as a test subject for the High Evolutionary. What to expect from the third Guadians movie
One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
