Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will soon be getting an upgrade as the film will be released on 4K Blu-Ray.
According to a new listing on Your Entertainment Source, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is due for a 4K release. The 4K release also appears to be combined with a Blu-Ray disk as well as a digital copy for the film. A release date was not revealed.
Released in 2016, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was notable for being the first live-action Star Wars spinoff but also a sad omen of things to come. The film was a critical and financial success earning over $1B at the worldwide box office and earned an 83% approval rating on Rotton Tomatoes and was cited as one of the best Star Wars films since Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Unfortunately, the production of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was something of a mess towards the end as director Gareth Edwards was eventually replaced so the final act could be reworked which would eventually become a familiar tale at Lucasfilm.
