Firestar's origins go all the way back to the animated series Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.

A new rumor suggests X-Men mutant Firestar is going to be introduced in an upcoming Marvel Studios project.

Now that Marvel has the rights to some of its key characters, including the X-Men, it makes sense that they’re ready to introduce them into their sprawling cinematic universe. While we imagined that the studio would go out with a bang and introduce the likes of Wolverine or Professor X, a new rumor suggests that Firestar will be introduced in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. The rumor comes from Daniel Richtman, one of the most reliable scoopers in recent memory.

The scooper didn’t reveal any more information regarding Firestar’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leaving the speculation to fans. The character could appear in either a full-fledged Marvel Studios film or a Disney Plus series. Seeing as there’s no more information on Firestar, we have no choice but to go to the character’s origins. Firestar didn’t make her debut as a X-Men character but rather as a friend of Spider-Man. Angelica Jones, aka Firestar, made her debut in the Saturday morning cartoon Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends in 1981.

Years after her debut on the animated series, she joined the X-Men comics, becoming a part of the mutant roster. Seeing as Firestar stems from Spider-Man, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her cinematic debut mimic her animated one. Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 3 is currently in pre-production and details are slim. Could Firestar really be making her debut in the Tom Holland film? It certainly would be exciting to see Firestar share the screen alongside Spidey but only time will tell if this rumor is true.
