Fans may be getting Spider-Man 4 after all! A new rumor suggests Sam Raimi may be up to direct the next installment in Tom Holland’s MCU franchise.
Despite all reports indicating the project will be filming sometime this year, Spider-Man 4 is still without a director. Following Jon Watts’ exit from the franchise after Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel and Tom Holland have been on the hunt for a new director to helm the MCU’s biggest series of films.
While dozens of names from Drew Goddard to Justin Lin have been suggested, the newest rumor by World of Reel indicates that Marvel may be considering Sam Raimi to direct Spider-Man 4. Raimi famously helmed Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy, which are often regarded as some of the best superhero movies of all time, making him an interesting choice to continue Tom Holland’s story in the MCU.
Sam Raimi Finally Gets A Spider-Man 4
There’s been a lot of talk recently about Sam Raimi continuing his iconic trilogy with Spider-Man 4. While a fun idea, the director has confirmed that there’s currently no plans for him to continue Tobey Maguire’s story with Marvel. However, it may be possible those rumors stemmed from his talks of taking up Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4.
Spider-Man 4 would be Sam Raimi’s second project for the MCU following the controversial Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Given rumors that Tom Holland’s story will be taking a slightly more grouded turn in the future, it’ll be interesting to see how Raimi’s often over-the-top directing style meshes with Marvel’s plans for the webhead.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
