The Russo Brothers just can’t keep their hands to themselves! The directors of Avengers: Doomsday reveal how they added to the final product of Thunderbolts.
Thunderbolts truly could not have come at a better time for the MCU. The fandom has been in dire straits ever since it was announced that The Russo Brothers would be directing Avengers: Doomsday, worrying that the studio may truly be relying on nostalgia for the end of the Multiverse Saga instead of trying to make a real hit. So a surprising underdog story was exactly what the franchise needed.
However, it seems as though Thunderbolts wasn’t entirely outside of the influence of the rest of the MCU. While many believed that director Jake Schreier had sole control over the direction of the film, it seems as though the Russo Brothers filmed just a little something for the project. In a recent social media post, the Avengers: Doomsday directors teased they might have been the ones to film the project’s second post-credits scene.

Did The Russo Brothers Film Thunderbolts?
Most people might think that this post confirms that the Russo Brothers just popped in one day during the production of Thunderbolts to film a quick scene. However, it seems as though the teaser was shot not too long ago. According to an exclusive report by CBR, the duo actually filmed the teaser just three weeks ago on the set of Avengers: Doomsday.
This makes sense, and isn’t exactly a new process for the MCU. After all, why would the studio create an entire set for one Thunderbolts post-credits scene just to tear it all down for a few months until Avengers: Doomsday starts filming. Perhaps the most important thing to note is that the Russo Brothers were able to accurately capture the feel of the blockbuster bombshell, suggesting that the upcoming crossover may be in better hands than first thought.
